Review
First things first, I loved this movie. I have seen it before but watching it again made me realize that it it as amazing story. It does a wonderful job of telling Elizabeth Gilbert's story. Now because I don't to ruin anything about the movie I am going to insert a few of the best quotes that I loved from the film.
"Having a baby is kind of like getting a tattoo on your face, you kind of have to be committed." Delia
"The only thing permanent in life is family" Italian woman who rents Liz her apartment in Rome.
"If you can't master your thoughts your in trouble" Richard
"I take nap now I very old" "101 or 64 I don't remember" Ketut
"To lose balance for love is part of living balanced life" Ketut
I absolutely loved the way that they used music to define what was happening. When Liz is eating pasta for example they use Opera type music which I think is brilliant, it really works.
I also loved the way that they showcased each country. For Rome they did a lot of just shots of Roman daily life and overhead shots of the city. For India it is simply Liz's taxi ride from the airport to her ashram, you see the start cultural differences immediately. When in Bali you see the countryside when Liz is riding her bike.
Over the course of the film Liz is looking for her "word" by the end she finds the one she knows is hers. Attraversiamo which means Let's cross over.
I hope you enjoyed today's post. Have you seen this movie? Will you watch it now?
See you next time :)
