Good Morning!!!
With the vast majority of us stuck inside for the last month and no end in sight right now; I figured this would be a neat post to do because then it will give you something to try.
Today I am going to be highlighting 4 different DIY Beauty recipes. I personally make the sugar scrub and can't wait to try the others.
Sugar Scrub

1 cup white or brown sugar
1/2 - 1 cup oil (olive or coconut work best)
Essential Oils (your preference)
Optional Add-Ins
(You can find lots more add in ideas online)
Lavender buds
Rose water
Chia Seeds
Kiwi
Lemon
Cucumber
Lime
Melt coconut oil (if using) and mix with sugar. If you are using olive oil don't worry about the whole melting part just mix together. After sugar and oil are well mixed add in your essential oil and mix again. At this point you can put in your add-ins.
Store in a glass jar or repurposed plastic container (just make sure that the seal is tight.)
Hair Mask

2 Bananas
4 tbsp Olive Oil
2 tbsp Honey
Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend well.
Before applying the mask make sure that you wash your hair with shampoo and rinse with warm water. This opens up your hair follicles and will make the mask soak in and moisturize your hair.
Put the mask in your hair and make sure to massage through all of your hair.
Cover your hair with a plastic hair cover or a cloth one in you have it, this will help the mask soak into your hair. Let the mask sit for 25-35 mins.
Rinse your hair with warm water.
Natural Deodorant
2 1/2 tbsp unrefined coconut oil
2 1/2 tbsp unrefined shea butter
1/4 cup arrowroot starch/flour
1 1/2 tbsp baking soda
6 drops lavender essential oil
6 drops grapefruit essential oil
1 drop tea tree oil *optional*

Place coconut oil and shea butter in a glass bowl or jar and place the bowl/jar inside a medium sauce-pan.
Add water to the saucepan (enough to surround bowl/jar but not to overflow it) and bring to a boil.
As water is heating up, ensure to stir coconut oil and shea butter and continue to do so until it melts.
Once melted, add in arrowroot starch, baking soda and essential oils.
Place in a 3 ounce jar and allow to cool at room temp or in fridge (will harden faster in fridge) until it’s reached a solid state.
Cover with lid until use.
Directions for use:
Wet underarms slightly (this helps with even application)
Spoon out a pea-sized amount with a wooden scoop or with fingers and rub between fingers before applying directly to underarms.
For a regular day, one application in the morning should be fine. For hotter days, workouts or if you’re particularly sweaty, feel free to reapply as needed.
*Certain people are sensitive to tea tree oil so be sure to test your skin with a drop before adding to mixture. It is not necessary to include but tea tree is antibacterial and it is the bacteria in your underarms that leads to smell so it is a nice addition if you are not sensitive.
Super Simple Mouthwash
1 cup filtered water
4 tsp baking soda
4 drops tea tree essential oil
4 drops peppermint essential oil
Add all ingredients to a mason jar or similar container with a lid. Shake very well. Use about 2 tablespoons of this mixture each day, the same way you would use mouthwash for super white teeth and fresh breath. The baking soda will usually settle to the bottom of the container after a few hours, but don’t worry, this is normal. Simply shake well before each use.
or

Cinnamon & Honey Mouthwash
2 lemons, juiced
1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
5 teaspoons of raw, organic honey
1 cup of warm water
Using a mason jar or similar type of container with a tight fitting lid, add all ingredients in the order given. Be sure the water is very warm as it needs to melt the honey. Close the lid and shake for one minute. Store in the fridge and use two tablespoons as a mouth rinse.
I hope that you are all doing okay during this time of isolation. I am always here if you want to talk to me :)
Hopefully you try some or all of the DIY at home beauty products. Enjoy!!
